The clouds were threatening and were moving towards us last Sunday afternoon. We stopped at a wine and cheese store in Stockbridge as the drizzle turned to a downpour. Wet, but safely inside as the skies opened.
The rain was torrential. The report later was 3 inches in less than an hour. Roads flooded.
The roof of the store sprung a leak and we helped move the electric scales on the counter from the soaking.
Then I panicked. My body reacted before my mind comprehended. The pelting of hail was heard before I realized what it was.
It as a few years ago that we were caught in a hail storm. Helpless in Mother Nature's fury. A broken windshield and more than twenty dents.
I'll leave it to the experts to opine on whether the reaction last weekend was due to post traumatic stress disorder. I simply respect my body and it was certainly telling me something.
Thankfully, the hail caused no damage --- to the car.
