“M3gan,” a movie about a robot/doll playmate is a big winner at the box office.  The doll, known as Megan, was created by a genius Artificial Intelligence scientist.  Allison Williams, of “Girls” and “Nope” fame, plays the inventor of Megan beautifully.

The 9 year old sized doll can respond and initiative conversations appropriately. Her brilliance has impressed the histrionic owner of the toy company.  Ronnie Chiang, the hilarious toy company owner, steals every scene.  HIs work on Comedy Central’s “Daily Show” has catapulted him into movie and stand up stardom.

Williams becomes the guardian of a depressed and lonely nine year old girl. The movie is a “sci-fi/horror comedy.”  The relationship between Megan and her isolated playmate develops into dark territories that have audiences both laughing and screaming in horror. 

The line between nurturing and protecting her friend lead Megan into a“Frankenstein” scenario.  The movie has captured the imagination of movie fans.  I enjoyed seeing the movie, with an excited and appreciative audience.
