I admit that I am competitive. Does being competitive make losing harder to bear?
Gotham has two softball teams the Gotham Bombers and the Gotham Batmen. I pitch for the Gotham Batmen.
Last year we finished in first place. This year the Batmen finished in second place with a nine wins and two loss record. The season begins in April and ends in August. That's a long time to be caught up in competitive softball madness.
In each year we qualified for the playoffs and a chance to win the Championship. Last year we lost in the Final.
Monday night was the first round of playoffs and we played the sixth-seeded team. Inexplicably, we came up flat and got destroyed by a nine to nothing score.
Now I'm wondering if I've pitched my last softball game. Then I remembered that we have the August 24th picnic – softball game against the Hinterlanders.
Maybe I (we) should just play it for fun....
