Look at the Sun

Look at the Sun

Who does not know and perhaps also look forwarded to viewing and experiencing tomorrow's Solar Eclipse? The New York Times posted "A solar eclipse soundtrack" for subscribers only on Friday.  It motivated the commentator to search songs which included the word "sun" in whole or part of their titles.  I found more than a few; multiple versions in many case.  I created a playlist which I titled, "April 8, 2024 (Sun Songs for the Solar Eclipse)."  I made one exception, I included one song without sun in its title: Cat Steven's "Moon Shadow," which appeared in that aforementioned New York Times list curated by Lindsay Zoladz; it kicks off the playlist.  The AppleMusic playlist totals 87 songs over 6 hours 36 minutes. YouTube runs 83. The playlist concluded the late long-time Poco member Paul Cotton's "The Last Sunset" from his solo CD, When The Coast is Clear.

Poco's Founder, Richie Furay, in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Buffalo, Springfield, gives title to this commentary with "Look at the Sun" which appeared his first solo LP, I've Got A Reason (The selection is from a 1976 live performance at the original My Father's Place in Roslyn, Long Island.).

So please enjoy the list and share if and where you plan to view the eclipse.
