I thought I would follow Don’s lead and write about a topic which concerns my head.
When I am asked whether I would cut my hair, my answer is usually the same, “Never. I am my hair.” And, while my response may sound comical, there is some seriousness in my answer. I cannot imagine ever cutting my hair short, changing the current color, or wearing it in a drastically different style than I do now. When I am in the mood to “switch it up,” the furthest I will go is allow it to dry into my natural curls instead of straightening it as I usually do
I know that I am not the only one who feels this way. I have observed lately that, for some people, their identity is closely tied to their hair. One cannot imagine Donald Trump without his signature hairstyle or color, Christie Brinkley without her long blonde hair, or a picture of Bo Derek without her cornrows. And if you google “Jennifer Aniston,” there will still be pictures on the first page of the famous “Rachel cut,” she sported in the 90’s. For these people, their hairstyle has become a part of their signature or brand.
How do you feel about your hair?
