Last week  we enjoyed two proud parent moments.  Both involved my daughter. I posted to X about the first.  Marisa authored an op-ed for the American Jewish Committee ("AJC") that appeared in the Albany Times-Union.   It was placed there because the target audience serve as members of the New York State Assembly and New York State Senators.  The op-ed supports passing bipartisan legislation (S4559/ A5448) by Assembly Member Nily Rozic and State Senator Toby Stavisky to require every New York college and university timely address antisemitic student harassment and discrimination.  The second involved a call from the Senator who advised that she shared Marisa’s op-ed with all of her colleagues in her entire Senate conference and her bill had its third reading in the Senate.

Just last month I shared another proud parent moment about Marisa’s installation to serve on the Queens Jewish Community Council board where this commentator previously served.

Marisa works at Assistant Director at AJC/NY.

Marisa certainly makes her parents proud!

p.s.  Happy Birthday to Friday’s blogger.

Corey. What’s not to be proud of!? AJC is a great organization and Marissa seems to be paying a big part in that.

BTW. Time does fly. Mimi first and then I served pretty long terms on the QJCC board back in the day.

Mazel Tov from us both
