Last week (No matter last night’s outcome as this got drafted before the NLDS game that matters to this commentator.) was a rather nice. In the middle of the summer I made plans with Marisa to take my daughter who likes live music at least as much as her dad to see the Doobie Brothers at the Capitol Theatre in Portchester last Monday eve. I was already in good spirits from watching my baseball team lock in a spot in the playoffs (and even more excited after the Polar Bear’s iconic blast Thursday eve to put the Mets in the NLDS that continues this afternoon). All I could think about after the Doobies performed so well was why I did not make this concert venue my preferred venue to see live music – it is now!
Shelly and I
saw the Doobies with Steve Winwood opening en route to the last Supreme Pythian Convention in Virginia the first weekend of August. While we enjoyed nice seats in Bristow VA the
intimacy of the Portchester
show made it even more special. They even shared an unreleased song that’ll appear on an upcoming album of the same name: “Walk This Road.”
