This commentary's title reflects more than a great song.  It reflects the feeling last week following my baseball team in the NLDS.  It also became the name of great song and video lists I got moved to create after the Mets clinched their divisional series at home and joined some labor colleagues outside at a fire pit.

Let me start by sharing I was at Citi Field last Wednesday evening with my friend Jon.  My daughter Marisa could not attend due to early 5:00 p.m. start; she had a 5:30 p.m. meeting with a State Senator.  It was pretty much a no doubt game. Superb pitching by Sean Manea, home runs by the Polar Bear (aka Pete Alonso) and (one-time nemesis, now happy to be a Met) Jesse Winkler, clutch pairs of RBIs by Jose Iglesias and Starling Marte, and a final knock-in by MVP Francisco Lindor.  I think Jon and I were among the last fans to leave the stadium basking in the glory and glee.

I got home just in time to pack for the early next morning ride to Cutchogue for the NYC Central Labor Council political directors conference ("what goes on in Cutchogue stays in Cutchogue" remains the operative phrase but that concerns the topics and discussion relating to organized labor and politics).  We gather at the lovely Educational Center of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  Just a wonderful facility.  On the drive out there early Thursday morning, I participated in my Gotham Business POWER Breakfast Zoom; since I was driving, group coordinator Shelley Simpson ran the meeting smoothly.  Our political director meeting ended in time to drop my bag and MacBook in my room, and head over the the dining hall to watch the Mets knock out the Phillies winning a best of five in four games.  Since the Yankees game followed immediately on the screens there, I used my iPad to continue my fandom glee watching the postgame interviews and celebration on the SNY app.  During the sporting festivities, some of my colleagues continued our tradition of sparking a nice fire (SAFELY of course) in a fire pit outside.  When I finally joined them, there was music playing as if coming from inside the pit.  Turned out it was my friend Sean's iPhone on a pit ledge.  I queried if there was a special setlist; Sean shared he selected one song and left the rest to AppleMusic.  I immediately thought about what songs would make a great playlist.

I started with the title of this blog, one of my all-time faves, the first song on Ron Wood's first solo album, "I've Got My Own Album to do" (which features Mick Jagger on backing vocals).  The playlist also includes two live versions, one with the Faces on The Midnight Special with Rod Stewart singing the Jagger parts. Other songs that immediately came to mind included Fire by Arthur Brown, Fire by the Pointer Sisters, Light My Fire by The Doors, Play With Fire by the Stones, Free's Fire and Water, Heavenly Fire by The Souther-Hillman-Furay Band (song and lead vocals by former Byrd Chris Hillman) and Poco's Keeper of the Fire.  The list morphed into 31 songs on AppleMusic and 32 on YouTube.

[SIDE NOTE: Firefighter Regina Wilson who often sang the National Anthem at the Community Mayors where my friend Vincent Petraro is chief vice mayor performed God Bless America Wednesday eve.  I took a pic and shared it with Vincent that eve.  Jon took the pic that appears upper left.]
