I never thought about it but when it comes time to get rid of furniture I learned the last few weeks its not so easy. We have had some really nice furniture in the living room and the second living room for many years. Its nice, high quality stuff, well made, expensive. But now we got some new furniture. What do you do with the old stuff. We put it on our local Facebook page for our town for really cheap, no bites. Then we said we would give it away for free just so it doesn't go to waste. A few people private messaged to ask but there was no way for them to pick it up, it was too big. We then arranged for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to come pick it up. The website said they come with a truck to pick it up for free and it is given to those in need. Sounded great! They came. They said they couldn't take a really nice couch because it had a small mark on it. They took some other pieces. When I heard that night I was shocked. Its a really nice couch. Do they expect it to be "In New" condition. they already know they are picking up used stuff. And its supposed to go to those in need, I'm sure there are many families who would have loved it. Its really frustrating. Now the couch is on the curb to be picked up by the towns "Bulk pick up service". Who knows where it will go.
