When Fellow Gothamite and co-chair of the Long Island Dinner Group, Laurel Scarr-Konel asked me whether I would like to judge a high school Moot Court competition, I paused for a few moments before volunteering with an enthusiastic “Yes”.

In those few moments, my thoughts went from my time commitments to “could be interesting” to giving back to the community.

Giving back is so important and there are so many ways to do so. If I can, perhaps, touch even a single high school student who is competing in moot court and has an eye on joining the profession that has been such a rewarding journey for me, I will have given back and it would have been worth it.
