There is something especially good about playing tennis with my son Josh, aside from the fact that it is just plain fun.  And that is that he remembers the score.

When Eve and I play, it is hopeless confusion.  Which side did I just serve to?  What is the score?  I don't know, I think it is 30-40.  But it can't be that because I just served to this side. No, you just served to that side. Maybe the score is 15-40. Who serves next? Did you just serve that last game or did I? Do we switch sides now? I don't know, what is the score (that question again)?

We end up serving to the same side twice in a row, or maybe not, I don't know. We had to have played way too many points this game.

It doesn't really matter though.  We do remember the way home.
