The NCAA just pulled back on some of the punishments it imposed on Penn St University resulting from the Jerry Sanduskey scandal.  Already, there are opinions forming on both sides.  Some say reducing the sanctions are wroong, others have gone so far as to say that the sanctions were overly inflicting and that the roll-back should actually come with an apology.

I believe that since everyone involved in the scandal is no longer there and having seen the way the team and the school have come together in the wake of the tragedy, I believe that it is simply an action of decency and compassion.

The complete destruction of a school and program that has been a cherished part of hundreds of thousands of people's lives for generations is something that should be considered carefully.
