It was my first concert at the Barclay's Center, and I had to leave at intermission. As I walked out someone was standing by the doors and asked me if by any chance I had an extra unused ticket. It turns out that I did.
At that point I was not interested in getting any money for my ticket. The show was great, and I was in the mood to be nice and let some one else share in it. So I gave him my unused extra ticket, told him where the seat was, and said "you will love it, enjoy the show." That felt good enough.
I walked towards the street and then noticed that this guy was still standing there. I had expected him to rush in, not wanting to miss the second set. I kept walking slowly, turning every few seconds to watch. And then sure enough, there he was selling the ticket I just gave him to some other young guy.
Sometimes you just put too much faith in people.
