No secret how proud Shelly and I are proud of our children (and our daughter in law too).  When we gathered last night for dinner I toasted Jonathan and Marisa for their recent achievement.  This weekend I tweeted (see pic upper right)-- twice, last night and Friday -- about proud parent moments:

Jonathan -- published again -- this time in Studies in Family Planning  (a publication of The Population Council), "a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal publishing public health, social science, and biomedical research with a primary focus on low- and middle-income countries."  Dr. Bearak, a Senior Research Scientist at Guttmacher Institute, is lead author with three others on "Alignment between Desires and Outcomes among Women Wanting to Avoid Pregnancy: A Global Comparative Study of “Conditional” Unintended Pregnancy Rates."

Marisa Jean's work intersects much with the words I inhabit past and present.  Marisa is Assistant Director at the AJC New York, one of regional offices of American Jewish Committee (AJC). There she directs political outreach, leading advocacy efforts to local, state, and federal elected officials and oversees AJC New York's interreligious and intergroup engagement.  Marisa is justly proud of her selection by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. to serve a term as a Delegate on the Queens General Assembly (QGA). QGA is an intergroup dialogue project that brings together diverse community leaders to unite as “One Borough.”
