A Treasure Hunt

My son David gave me a novel birthday present, a Key West treasure hunt, which he planned during a recent visit and shared with his mom Joanne.

There was no treasure map, just 5 destinations: Pepe's Cafe, Sloppy Joe's Bar, Hog's Breath Saloon, Saltwater Angler Fishing Store and Salty Dog T-Shirt Factory, which I mapped out in a logical biking loop.

The first stop was at Pepe's and when I asked about a treasure hunt they had no idea what I was talking about, but a little boy, KJ, over heard me and sweetly said "Are you going on a treasure hunt, can I come?"

At Sloppy Joe's (pictured) a great tee shirt was awaiting me. None was to be had at Hog's Breath, but I discovered good ones at both Saltwater Angler and Salty Dog.

Props to David for the start of a unique tradition and his innovative way of stocking my Tee Shirt Series!

PS: When all is said and done, KJ was a treasure too :)

Fast pitch - I played against you and you don't fast pitch. You're more of a Greg Maddux location pitcher.

For my 80th we designed a walk at our favorite track for friends and families to walk 80 laps and then some and to donate puppets to bring to the stage we built for the young visitors at the county jail. For my 70th my kids created a neighborhood walk to the favorite places that was one foot for every day of my young life, about 5 miles. Keep on keeping on! Tee hee! Looking forward to 90!
