I have recently noticed that I am using keys less and less. I recently leased a new GMC Terrain and, for the first time, I have a keyless car. It has me a bit unnerved because I am afraid that, one day, I will leave the key fob in the car and lock myself out. Or keep the keyfob in my pocketbook and forget to lock the car when I leave.
Additionally, my husband has installed “smart” technology in our house. For the past several months my husband and our kids have used an App to lock and unlock the front door. Initially, I would not even download the App, preferring to rely on my house key. They finally convinced me, however, to try the App. I did so reluctantly but, I must admit, that I like it. It’s very easy just to press an App to lock and unlock the front door.
Are keys becoming obsolete?
