There are a wide range of factors that contribute to female under-representation, many of which may be out of your control as an individual. Although communication style is extremely individualized, there are some patterns that tend to be more common in women. One issue that is frequently seen among women is over-apologizing. While saying \u201cI\u2019m sorry\u201d when you\u2019ve done something wrong is common courtesy, apologizing in situations in which it isn\u2019t warranted can negatively impact your perceived confidence and credibility.
