A gift of travel is a great surprise. A few years ago I did a stint working at JFK at Delta's check-in counter. I met a lot of memorable characters, but one that really made an impression was a man who came to my counter with both his wife's passport and his own. He asked if I could check them both in without actually talking to his wife (she was waiting a few yards away where I could see her). The reason?
