<p class="MsoNormal">Who will you meet at the next Gotham lunch that you had not met before, or maybe you have met them, but you never really had a chance to connect and start a conversation with them.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Who will you sit with at the Mets/Yankees game? Who will you tease when the Yankees win but then hug when you are leaving the game?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Who will you have breakfast with at the Gotham golf outing? What conversation will you have on the driving range that morning that you will follow up on? What side bets will you have for the round? Who will you laugh with at the dinner?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">What opportunity will come your way later in 2024 because of the relationships you have made that you never would have predicted in January 2024?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Networking is not about showing up to an event, or a lunch, exchanging business cards and finding business. If those are your expectations, you are sure to be disappointed. Networking is about building relationships over the course of many
years. It takes a long time. You must make the investment. Years later when someone you have built a close relationship with has something on there desk in your niche of the world, that’s when you get the call. They thought of you because they know like and
trust you.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Relationships take time to build. It doesn’t happen over Zoom. You must spend time with people, one on one, maybe a lunch with 2 or 3 others, attending all the larger group lunches and events, Taking advantage of all the other Gotham events
on the calendar. You can’t make them all, there are too many(Good problem to have) You must manage your own life, your own family, your personal friends and your work. You attend what you can….but you must make the most of the time you spend. Build real relationships.
DON’T expect to receive, go out of your way to give. What goes around, comes around, is what Fred always says, it’s true.<o:p></o:p></p>
