<p class="MsoNormal">It was an overcast day with a 40% chance of rain. The alarm went off at 5AM and into the shower I went. No time to grab a coffee as I had about an hour drive to get out to Moriches, NY on the south shore. Our destination was The Rosie Charter
Boat. But this was not a standard party boat. This was a Gotham Charter. Captain Ray Walcott took charge in providing plenty of Refreshments. This included (unexpected) bagels, cream cheese spreads and coffee. I believe another member also provided more bagels
as well. The boat provided a large pot of coffee. Ray also went to Brooklyn\u2019s famous Landi\u2019s Pork Store in Ave N in Brooklyn (at one of my old neighborhoods as well) and got a delicious 6 foot hero (half Italian half American) with the all the pasta and macaroni
salad one can eat. He even covered chips, cookies and a cooler full of water. No one went hungry. Member Susan Schoenberg had an unfortunate incident with a flat tire ¾ of the way to the boat. No problem, Ray was there to pick her up, as the \u201cshow must go
on\u201d in the true Gotham Spirit. So after a little delay we were off to bay to do some serios Fluke Fishing. 18 ½ inches was the target. The fish were bighting here and there and most were below the length needed but fun was had by all. There were kids, true
fishing aficionado\u2019s and some newbies that actually caught \u201ckeepers\u201d. Some drank, some indulged in a fine cigar, some relaxed and enjoyed the ride. But all had fun. It never did rain until we got off the boat. Ray pulled it off, Gotham first fishing trip.
Look for this to be an annual event. I flew in to center my trip to NY around this event and I am glad I did.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8pt;line-height:106%">Just sit right back and you\u2019ll hear a tale of the fate trip of Vincent Chirico, Susan Schoenberg, Steven Somma, Steven Glassberg, Dan Schwartz and Jose Villa who started from Center Moriches
aboard \u201cRosie\u201d aka the \u201cGotham One\u201d which on Saturday morning served as host to the first ever Gotham fishing trip.<u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8pt;line-height:106%">The mate, Reliable Ray, was a mighty sailin' man, and I was there with my two kids. These passengers set sail that day, for an eight hour tour, an eight hour tour.<u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8pt;line-height:106%">The weather was nothing short of perfect, the fish were biting well. Steve Somma caught the big one! My son caught everything else in sight including a pesky tern. And thanks to the planning
of the fearless crew (Ray Walcott) the heroes (and salads, chips, water, etc) were devoured, the heroes were devoured.<u></u><u></u></p>
