And here we are about <b><u>70 Fridays later.</u></b> This chronicler could go back and make an accurate count but what\u2019s a week or two in the scope of our very full calendar. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>This past week we celebrated the lefthanded members on National Lefthander\u2019s Day and offered some lefthanded compliments to others. There were sets ups and putdowns. Funny jokes, silly stories, insights and outrages.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Some stopped in for a <u>hot minute</u> just as we covered some <u>hot topics</u> and got the lowdown on former <u>hotspots.</u> Making the most of innuendo or \u201din your face,\u201d our time together was fast paced and thoroughly entertaining.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Despite the \u201cno politics\u201d rule we went there too! It\u2019s easy when egos are left at the \u201cclick to enter.\u201d Even the tough topics are handled with laughter. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>In the mix of topics - the weather, decorating, booze, brains and the edible (yuck!) pancreas, our reliable Ray Walcott made sure everyone knew about the upcoming Business Seminar featuring his Gotham Buddy, Paula Oleska. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Last week I read an article proffering the idea that this pandemic has turned people into \u201cabstractions \u2026 causing a lost sense of togetherness.\u201d Perhaps that\u2019s true on the socials, perhaps it\u2019s true for some people. But if she were a member of Gotham, Mama Rose* would say, \u201csome people ain\u2019t us.\u201d*<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Sure, we want to come together and enjoy \u201ccasual cocktails\u201d in person like in the old days.
