As of now, there may only be 400 wild macaws left in the entire country.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>One Earth Conservation\u2019s successes in Honduras regarding the beautiful scarlet macaw include:<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>-Due to our project, no scarlet macaw from the Moskitia region of Honduras entered the illegal wildife trade in 2016, and none were poached in 2017<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>-Between the Rescue and Liberation Center and our nest protection program, we have saved 156 scarlet macaws<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>-This is 25% of all the remaining scarlet macaws in the Moskitia region of Honduras, the last place where the national bird of Honduras has not disappeared and flies free naturally. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>LoraKim Joyner, my work partner, is returning today from a trip there.
