Worth spilling a little bit..
What happens when you host an event that turns out to be sandwiched between
two other high profile events within 7 days of each other?
Well, if you are Doug Kniffen, you show up in the coolest red shirt and
black n white printed shorts ready to have fun which is so antithesis of his
business persona. Got to learn that he car raced professionally and was
really good at it too. Who would have thunk that an insurance guy was once a
professional car racer.
Or like Barry Newman, you travel in the summer downpours from Manhattan. The
kind that sometimes make you have to pull over because you just can't see
the road in front of you. Just to pick up his Mom to take her out on a date
with his wife and him to our clambake. Rhoda Newman who is always up for
fun any time, not only kvells about Barry and Ellen, but tells the story
about spending time with friends at Capt Bills earlier in the day and that
she is a frequent flyer there. I also learned that she and I went to the
same two colleges within a few years of each other. The first was SUNY
Farmingdale. The second was Empire. The difference was she is about 25
years older than me. Good for Rhoda and it was fun bonding with her, Ellen,
and Barry that way.
Ladies, most of the men wore shorts and shirts. I was hoping we could line
them up and take a pix of them showing off their legs. Most of all we had a
great group of people who were fun to hang around. There was some business
that got accomplished in the process. Some newbies who were first learning
about us, and some circuit riders who made their Friday night date night at
our Clambake.
The food was aaamaaaazzzing. Capt Bills never disappoints. The staff
service was terrific. Jason know how to make a party. And everyone that
came was there to just have fun. While the rain dampened may a trip that
night, we were outside enjoying the warm breeze over the water. Join us
next year and make it Gotham's the event of the Summer.
Warmest Regards

"Impossible is just a word thrown around by small men
who find it easier to live in the world they've been given
than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is potential
Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."
