[Fredslist] Need a referral to a back doctor in Manhattan

Dear Gotham,

 

A client suffers from spinal stenosis and needs a doctor in Manhattan who
will give her a second opinion - and help with her pain.  She has medical
insurance through her late husband's union and Medicare.  She says any
doctor will require a referral - and she doesn't want to go back to the
doctor who wasn't able to help her.

 

Can anyone suggest how to get a referral to someone who can help?

 

She will be very, very grateful for all suggestions.   As will I.
