Hello Gotham:
It is Robert Schwartz from Gotham Philadelphia. I recently took my
daughter to Coral Gables to move her into University of Miami. The good
news is she loves it and is very happy. The bad news is we had the great
misfortune of staying the "legendary" Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.
The short version is the management is greatly lacking in customer service
compassion or just common human decency. We awoke the first morning to find
our rental car stolen along with all of my daughter's non clothing items,
more than $4,000. As my wife and I scrambled around for help and
assistance, there was none to be found and we were told no manager was
available. I finally called 911 and the Coral Gables Police arrived,
suddenly there was someone from security available, but not much else.
Understandably my daughters and my wife were extremely upset, and I spent
the next 17 hours on the phone with police, rental car, insurance, and
trying to replace the stolen items.
The hotel did nothing to help, nor did the make any effort to comfort
or support anyone in my family. There is too much to detail in-between, so
fast forward to checkout. Not only didn't they make efforts to help, they
over billed us more than double what was due, including a litany of petty
and excessive charges. I have placed multiple phone calls, emails and voice
messages for the manager (Erin), the general manager ( Matthais Kammerer)
and the owner (Gene Prescott). I have been waiting since Sunday August 20
for a reply of any kind.
I would really appreciate any assistance and or advice.
Thank you
Robert Schwartz
