[Fredslist] Need advice re: hotel in NYC

Hello, Gotham folks,

My wife and I recently celebrated a milestone and I'm taking her out to a show in the city tonight to celebrate.  We originally thought that we wouldn't have the ability to stay overnight, but now it seems that we do. However, in looking to book a last-minute hotel, I see that the Pope's visit has had a big impact on room availability and pricing.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get a nice hotel room for one night without breaking the bank?
