Bravo to the winners! And Bravo all Film Festival Producers including Steven Skyles-Mulligan, Judy Mauer, Cayce Crown, GideonSchein, Corey Bearak and Fred Klein - let's not forget the sponsors. Hats off to Raj in particular for matching. It makes one proud to be a Gothamite. (apologies if I missed anyone).
Excellent choices all though I was sorry to not see Fireflies nor make the grade because, though tragic, it sheds light on one of the most rabid threats to modern civilization and its most vulnerable population: Children.
Talia Zinder is a gifted talent and has her father's artistic eye. Talia is someone to watch!
"BMW Spoof" is less spoof than reality. A dear friend, seventies, was severely injured by a hit & run last summer at 66th and Broadway. No doubt someone on their mobile.
"Escape" was a metaphor for the ravages of aging and the desire to escape the prison of its life sentence.
On an up note, the most salient take-away from Cayce's fine short about the non-profit world and volunteers who toil in its alien terrain of rejection was this (I paraphrase): "Nothing great ever happens without asking. The world's greatest accomplishments arethe result of asking."
