[Fredslist] TRANQUILLITY CAMP

I had to respond to Cary's email about Tranquillity. My daughter went there for many years and I have to say it was the most incredible camp experience we could have imagined for her. Their unplugged policy is different from every other camp and creates a unique experience for both campers and their parents. My daughter and I were forced to resort to the ancient practice of letter writing in order to communicate with one another. And it was a better experience than either of us could have hoped for. When she came home from camp (they have a true full summer-unlike most camps that only offer 6 weeks) I could see the difference being unplugged made in her demeanor.
Tranquillity alumni are fiercely loyal to their camp and, after having a child go through the Tranquillity experience, I can understand why. If you  are looking for a camp experience where your child will truly be detached from the demands of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, you should seriously consider Tranquillity. I know my daughter  will be forever grateful that we did.

There will be an open house at the Hilton Hotel at 598 Broad Hollow Road, Melville, NY 11747, on Sunday November 15, 2015 from 10AM to 4PM.  Located in upstate New York, Tranquillity Camp was founded nearly 100 years ago on the principle that all deserving children should have an opportunity to spend their summers in the "country" to grow and develop. Tranquillity has been an important part of my family for over 50 years.  What's different about Tranquillity is that it is unplugged.  The kids actually talk to each other!  No cell phones or electronics to distract the children from learning how to be social and to work in groups or teams, whether they are participating in theater, sports, or a variety of  outdoor activities. By working in groups and learning leadership as they grow to be counselors, they develop skills that serve them well at home and in life as they grow up.  I urge you to come learn more about this wonderful opportunity for your children at the open house on Sunday, November 15th.  You can also explore for yourself at TranquillityCamp.com, and feel free to e-mail me as well with any questions you may have at cspiegel at spiegelconsultants.com. Cary Spiegel - Gotham Construction & Gotham Princeton
