NEW YORK, NY, February 3, 2015 - Dealing with a divorce and its aftermath can be a grueling experience.  And like divorces with couples, law firm breakups are rarely pretty.  To address the many issues involved, noted attorney J. Christopher Jensen, Esq. of Cowan Liebowitz Latman PC will be a guest speaker at the next series of Israeloff Trattner Law Firm Managing Partners' Groups.
                The Israeloff Trattner New York Law Firm Managing Partners' Group will meet on Thursday February 12, 2014 from 8:15AM - 10:15AM at the Association of the Bar City of New York, 42 West 44th Street, New York City.  The Long Island Law Firm Managing Partners' Group will meet on Wednesday March 18, 2015 from 8:00AM - 10:00 AM at the Milleridge Inn in Jericho.
Entitled "Law Firm Divorce: Who Gets What When Your Law Firm Breaks Up?" the program will include a discussion on law firm partnership agreements; pitfalls for the unwary when drafting agreements; financial arrangements and terms; what's unique about the Limited Liability Partnership;   partnership dissolution and liquidation; the rights of creditors; goodwill; unique partnership assets; the value of contingency fee cases; and issues in the litigation or arbitration of disputes.
J. Christopher Jensen is a partner and senior member of Cowan Liebowitz Latman's litigation group.  He has extensive experience in this arena and his practice consists of facilitating the resolution of commercial and intellectual property disputes through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution procedures, and where  necessary, through the trial of actions before federal and state courts and arbitration tribunals throughout the United States.
The discussion will be led by Israeloff, Trattner's Michael J. Garibaldi, CPA/ABV/CFF/CGMA.  Designed for transitional and non-transitional attorneys, there is no fee for this meeting, which is open only to law firm managing partners and their representatives.
