[Fredslist] Fwd: "Being Nice"

I have been doing this for many years.
Many years ago I stopped by the booth of my own bank in a business showcase
event. The only reason to stop was to say that I have been a loyal customer
for 20 years and to let them know that they are doing a good job servicing
my account. During this chat one of the man gave me his business card and
told me to contact him with any needs I may have in future. I didn't know
it that time, but over the years he became my banking advisor, solver of my
problems and a somewhat friend. I referred business to him over the years.

A pleasing variation on our "It's better to give than receive..." Mantra.
Thanks Richard!

I am guessing that the majority of folks who write or phone companies do so
to complain about something....who hasn't!

IDEA: How about all Gothamites during this month (for starters) make at
least one "thank you....nice job....your employee was excellent, etc."
gesture.

I recently did and wow did the results make me feel good. The company that
services our swimming pool is the largest in New Jersey. We have been using
them for years with satisfactory results. This season I was really impressed
with the man who came weekly to do the servicing. I phoned the company's
owner telling him in detail why his employee was outstanding.
Two weeks later I found out this fellow was promoted to service manager!
