Happy Spring...and hopefully soon to be summer!

I want to take a minute to remind you that the Summer of Giving is right around the corner. Last year, thanks to the generosity of all of you we raised $20K to donate to 4 different charitable organizations. If you're new to Gotham let me explain how it all works. At each and every meeting an envelope is passed around and we ask you to donate a few dollars along with your business card stating the charity of your choice. At the end of the summer 4 cards are randomly chosen from the lot and 4 fortunate charities are gifted $5K each. Last year one of my favorite charities, Senior Services of Stamford, was chosen as one of the four to receive a  $5,000 grant from the Gotham Foundation! Imagine my surprise when my name and Senior Services of Stamford's name was announced at the Holiday cocktail party!

Senior Services of Stamford is a 100 year old nonprofit organization in Stamford, CT that helps seniors over the age of 60 with nutrition, heat, prescriptions, rent, medical transportation and other necessities of life . I am proud to serve on the Board of Trustees of this wonderful organization.

It's the luck of the draw and the more times you put your card in the envelope with a donation, the better your chance is of  winning a grant for your favorite organization. Gotham also accepts on line donations too.

So please give generously and give often...maybe this summer we will collect $25,000. Wouldn't that be great?
