Here! Here! This is awesome news indeed. On behalf of Gotham NY Health & Aging, I have already invited Kelly and Amparo to attend
our Oct. 31 luncheon. Hope to get a local hospital there along with AARP....Rona, you, Woman of Valor, have an open invitation.

Oh, this is fabulous and she is playing a very creative, critical role in training and sensitizing medical personnel!!  Absolutely awesome (and think of all she is learning, whew!)

Hello Gotham members:

I’m sharing a nice article from today’s Newsday about SP’s, Standardized Patients.  My daughter Kelly Connors, pictured, loves being an SP at NS/LIJ.  She also does this work for NYIT. Kelly graduated from Queens College as a Theater major. She’s a terrific actor and has an amazing memory and stage presence.

As an SP Kelly has played varied roles. They include a rape victim (riding in an ambulance for ENT’s to train), a racist parent who only allows white medical personnel to treat her child, a bipolar patient, a patient with a rare muscle disorder and rash (I forget the particular syndrome that has these symptoms), a Dr., and even a patient experiencing seizures. One of the skills Kelly has learned  as n SP is make-up application to simulate bruises and rashes.

If any of you need to hire an actor for training, or any other type of video or scenario, please keep Kelly in mind. Wishing everyone a great day; Amparo
