Dear Gotham,
For a quintessential New York experience, try Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center.  Great bands, beautiful setting, great dance floor with lessons.  And it's only $17.  Tuesdays thru Saturdays, till July 13.
Tonight, Wynton Marsalis with the Jazz at Linc. Centr. Orchestra.  Other shows feature tango, disco, lindy, r & b, and salsa.  Something for everyone.
