[Fredslist] ILA East Coast Strike ?

 Gothamites,

The New Haven group had a great meeting today and everyone seemed to be upbeat.
Until I offered this little tidbit:

On October 1st 2012, the International Longshoreman's Association ( ILA )may go on strike from the East Coast to the Gulf Coast.

What does this mean? 

Companies that are depending on product or materials for the holiday season from overseas may see delays in delivery if scheduled after Oct. 1, 2012. ( If the strike occurs )

Companies exporting goods after Oct. 1, 2012 may run into issues of actually not being able to get your product out of the country.

Please, if any of these apply to you or someone you know, tell them to talk to their freight forwarder.
