Question for  Gotham Tax people

I want to confirm information - I have been told that if you want to make qualified disaster relief payments to employees who has had substantial verifiable losses due to Hurricane Sandy,  that you don't take out income tax and other related taxes. You can just make a lump sum disaster payment?.

Thanks!! Need to confirm so I don't have a problem.
