[Fredslist] Carbon monoxide danger from generators

Dear Gothamites:

 

I know there are many on this list who live in areas where the recent storms
have knocked out power. This story

rbon-monoxide-claims-another-victim?lite>  tells of a woman who died in
Oceanside from carbon monoxide poisoning earlier this week. She died because
she had the generator in the garage, and the guy who came to deal with her
backed-up sewage closed the garage door. How do I know that? She was my
in-laws' next-door neighbor.

 

Please be careful in your use of any generator or charcoal grill, and if you
don't have carbon monoxide detectors, please purchase them-even if you
aren't using a generator.
