[Fredslist] I need advice on getting slammed with a $130, 000 bill from the Nursing Home after Mother passed.

The family had paid the monthly bill from the Nursing Home on Long Island and then after Mother passed they sent a "Revised" bill for $130,000. saying that Mother wan't on medicaid like everyone thought.  Turns out that the Nursing Home was the party filing for Medicaid and we believed they had done their job.  Can anyone recommend a source for help as this is definitely out of my league.
