Course Description:As the population continues to age more and more attorneys and business owners are thinking about retirement and how to obtain value for the businesses or practices that they have spent their entire careers building. Join us for a practical program which addresses the issue of succession planning as a way to market the business/practice and provide for retirement or survivor income. Other topics to be addressed include;
	* the downside of failure to develop a succession plan; 
	* identifying the goals and objectives of the business owner/law practice partners; 
	* buy-sell agreements; 
	* funding the agreements; 
	* valuation of businesses and practices and valuation methods; 
	* ensuring successful transitions and avoiding problems;
	* dealing with ethical issues involved in transactions involving teh sale of a practice or business
