Below is a summary of labor data for New York for the month of May:
 
·         New York’s unemployment rate held steady at 7.9 percent in May
·         The state rate remains well below the national rate, which currently stands at 9.1 percent
·         The state lost 21,200 jobs over the month
·         Over the past year, largest job gains were reported in Professional & Business services (+30,200), Education & Health Services (+29,300), and Leisure & Hospitality (+17,900)
