Job Title:  Practicum Coordinator (Public Health and Health Sciences)
Campus:  Brooklyn
School of Health Professions
 
Position:   The Master of Public Health (MPH) and Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) are exciting, innovative academic programs at the Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University, located in downtown Brooklyn.  The programs prepare students for rewarding careers in public health practice.  The MPH program also has a new concentration in Advocacy, Communication and Education.  This position will oversee student practicum experiences for both degrees.
 
Job Duties:  Focused upon establishing and supervising student practicum placements, the coordinator will oversee placement for the BSHS and MPH programs.  Both utilize similar sites and their curricula are related.  Responsibilities include establishing contracts with sites, visitation of sites, training of preceptors, advising the program on practicum policies, maintaining a site database and working with faculty to insure student preparation for practicum experiences.  In the case of MPH program, the Coordinator will insure that practicum experience meet CEPH accreditation guidelines.  As a result of interactions with Practicum sites, the Coordinator will also function as a community liaison for the programs.
 
Qualifications:   MPH or comparable degree; must have experience in the public health field.  Excellent writing skills; strong organizational skills; detail oriented.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
 
FLSA Classification:  Exempt
 
Salary:  Competitive and commensurate with experience
