Please join us as noted criminal defense attorney Bruce Barket
discusses wrongful convictions – the causes of these unimaginable errors, and
proposed improvements. Joining Bruce will be Marty Tankleff who woke up on the
first day of his senior year in high school to find his parents brutally
murdered – only to discover that he was the prime suspect. Reeling from the
death of his parents, Marty was subsequently tried, convicted and sentenced
to prison for a crime he did not commit. Marty will discuss what it was
like for a young, innocent suburban LI boy to find himself wrongly accused
of murder and how, while serving a 50 year to life sentence, he built a
legal team that eventually won his exoneration and freedom.
