Two weeks ago I was privileged to attend the private opening for a new book in Paris. The book, Alfred Dreyfus: Cahiers de l'île du Diable (Alfred Dreyfus: The Notebooks from Devil's Island) is the first time in more than 110 years that Dreyfus's words, captured during his hellish exile for a crime he did not commit, can be read. Fourteen notebooks have been transcribed in French, and cahier (notebook) #7 has been faithfully reproduced in a limited, hand-bound edition. This edition is presented in a hand-made, acid-etched pewter slipcase. For the first time, you can see look upon Dreyfus's hand-drawn, precise arabesques created to stave away madness: English lessons, mathematical equations, rewriting of Shakespeare . . . all from memory to keep his mind from the fear that he had been forgotten for all time.

This is a unique opportunity not only in terms of scholarship, but for those with an interest in international law, historical documents, and those who would witness a glimpse of a man whose inner strength seemed to have no limits. I invite you all to check into my LinkedIn page: http://www.linkedin.com/in/ellinyassky. Please click to view Full Profile and read the Press Release there about the book (or contact me and I'll send you more information).

There are limited quantities of this book available, and I am the sole agent for this publisher in the US, Canada, and Israel. I have been allowed to offer this book at a cost of $575, inclusive of shipping and insurance from France. Each book is hand-numbered. I believe there are only 50 remaining from the original printing of 300.

For me, learning about Dreyfus's story and it's subsequent place in history has put many things in perspective for me. I invite you all to share in this incredible story.

With warm wishes for the New Year,

Ellin
