[Fredslist] Lefties! Raise your left hand...

Dear Fellow Leftie Elizabeth,

"Right is not Right", "Left Power" are but a few of the slogans I'm working on! I always go out of my way to tell our fellow lefties to stay proud! When I see a left-handed police officer I tell him or her to shoot the first rightie who gives them grief. I'm trying to start a movement. If people can "rescue" lab rats, we can start looking out for ourselves!

Have you ever looked up the definition of sinister? Here's what it says:

Etymology: Middle English sinistre, from Anglo-French senestre on the left, from Latin sinistr-, sinister on the left side, unlucky, inauspicious
Date: 15th century
1 archaic : unfavorable, unlucky
2 archaic : fraudulent
3 : singularly evil or productive of evil
4 a : of, relating to, or situated to the left or on the left side of something; especially : being or relating to the side of a heraldic shield at the left of the person bearing it b : of ill omen by reason of being on the left
5 : presaging ill fortune or trouble
6 : accompanied by or leading to disaster

— sin·is·ter·ly adverb

— sin·is·ter·ness noun

Enough said!!!!

As for the "righties who attend (i.e. "crash") "let em eat cake" with the fork placed on the left!!!

John

The coffee cup Handles must be to the left and, yes, I agree with you, John, monumentally, that the coffee cups themselves must be to the left. The glasses to the left, yes.

Now---since I failed (gratefully) to learn the ridiculously wasted motion of changing the fork and knife Back And Forth between cutting and consuming [as well as: one's food gets colder waiting for all these transfers of utensils] (my opinion)...I prefer the fork being placed on the left and the knife on the right. I would, however, rather my spoons be placed on the left. My bread plate is ok on the left...unless I have a side salad---which I definitely do want on the my left. Therefore, my bread plate does need to be on the right.

I wonder how many Righties are spending time reading these Lefty postings...................
Me thinks therein lies a Gotham poll.

  Elizabeth

    Dear Gil,

Please make sure that the table settings for the meetings are "leftie set". Specifically, the fork(s) and napkin should be on the RIGHT, the knife and spoon(s) on the LEFT, the drinking glass on the LEFT, and the bread plate on the RIGHT. Although I can't be there, I will relish the idea of "them" having to reverse everything for a change!!

      Lefties! Raise your LEFT hand...
Proudly hold it high... Be counted in!

Because Gotham Lefty meets one week from today!

Imagine, an entire table of lefties. No bumping elbows. No
scrunching looking for that extra inch of room.

Lefties, run, don't walk, to the link below and sign up. Because
there's plenty of room for you! We'll dine like kings and queens
and share our stories of life in a right-handed world.

In addition, we will accommodate up to 6 seats for righties (at
a separate table, of course, to avoid bumping elbows).

These 6 seats will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Righties, please make your reservations with me directly by calling
347-920-3272 or sending me an email. I will confirm by email that
      we have room for you.

In the meantime, there's still room at the big table for those who
are left-handed and don’t want to be "LEFT OUT" of the exciting
Lefty Group meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the Friars Club on
Thursday, February 18, 2010. Follow this link TODAY:
