Job Description


Role:
Overall responsibility for investment accounting and reporting for traditional asset classes, hedge funds, private equity and real estate.

This position reports into the CEO.

Main Responsibilities:


 *   Develop, document and maintain investment accounting and asset control policies, procedures and processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, validity and timeliness.
 *   Develop and implement systems to maintain and monitor all portfolio holdings.
 *   Develop and manage the calculation, analyses and reporting of Performance data for traditional and alternative investments.
 *   Detect and identify and investigate to a satisfactory conclusion any material discrepancies between the custodian's and managers' supplied data.
 *   Facilitate the monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc Client Reporting processes.
 *   Track all actual and projected investment cash flows.
 *   Manage the margin and collateral for any investments that have such requirements.
 *   Periodic examination and review of Investment Managers' client statements, performance, financial statements, reconciliations and all other key manager data.
 *   Facilitate all external and internal accounting activities (e.g., coordinating the funding of investments, and receipt of distributions from investments, as well as coordinating the payment of investment related expenses).
 *   Participate in the evaluation process (from an investment accounting perspective) of all new investments.
 *   Assist in the coordination and completion of the transfer of Alternative Assets to the Custodian.
 *   Confirm and track terms of contractual agreements and other documents with supplied financial statements and reports.
 *   Oversee, monitor and facilitate all tax and statutory reporting requirements.
 *   Implement periodic financial reviews on the various investment portfolio holdings as needed.
 *   Develop and maintain well structured and secured automated accounting system with the appropriate spreadsheet controls.

Additional responsibilities:

 *   Periodic cash flow reporting and cash flow projections, and preparation and coordination of fee payments


Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

 *   12+  years of experience in investment accounting area focusing on traditional assets and hedge funds
 *   CPA and/or CFA
 *   Strong oral and written communication skills
 *   Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills
 *   Detail oriented
 *   Ability to adapt to changing environment, prioritize workflow and  meet strict deadlines
 *   Ability to analyze Hedge Fund docs and financial statements a plus
