Gotham Open House's next luncheon will take place at the Friar's Club on
Thursday December 16th from 12:30 - 2 pm, and we invite you to ride the
circuit and join us.
By waiving Gotham's non-compete rule, Open House has allowed us to open
our doors to those who were otherwise 'conflicted out' of other Gotham
groups. For some, it's an opportunity to join our 'tribe' while waiting
for a spot to open up in one of the other groups; for others, it has
fast become their Gotham 'home'.
In addition to encouraging existing Gothamites to 'ride the circuit' and
visit us, we also welcome you to bring new guests and friends to attend
our meetings as a way to experience our unique brand of 'tribal
networking'.

Our fee is $45 for lunch, and all attendees must pre-register (no

Gotham Queens will hold its meeting Thursday, December 16th at the
World Famous POP Diner 80-26 Queens Boulevard Elmhurst at 8:30am. For
those of you who will be attending please RSVP to OUR FEARLESS GROUP
COORDINATOR Vincent DeRogatis - vincent at axelpro.net so he can have an
accurate head count. WE ALSO HAVE A NON-COMPETE.
MEMBERS, please bring a potential member - there is no charge for
your guest. We need a fire suppression, pest control, signs and
banner, temp agency some attorneys and the list goes on. There is no
pressure to join and most guests become friends of Gotham and are
potential leads for our members.

Dear Along the Network:
I worked in Ed's '77 mayoral campaign and after winning very competitive
primary, run off and general elections, we finally took office. I stayed
with him throughout all of his three administrations as a housing official
whom he would also lend to campaigns, on occasion.
Yesterday was his 86th birthday and, as usual, all of the former "Kochites"
and many current government officials get together for this annual event at
Gracie Mansion. Last night was no exception except that the usual "pose with
the mayor" shot this year was everyone taking turns sitting next to Ed on
2-person couch. The years have begun to catch up with him, as well as with
many of us, as we strain to recognize some of the old timers or try to match
the name tags on people together with what we remember they once looked
like.
Edward I. Koch has always been a quintessential New Yorker and his
dedication to this city and its residents will always be a significant part
of the Big Apple's history. I am proud to have served under him and to
paraphrase Simon and Garfunkel, it was a groovy time.
Happy Birthday, Mr. Mayor!

As a parent I continue to work at educating my children on how fortunate they
are and how the gift to others is much more important than the one received.
After listening to them last night bickering over their hanukkah gifts and how
they want to spend their money only in certain stores, I realized that they need
to give of themselves this year and all the years to come.
Would any of you in this wonderful Gotham family recommend a soup kitchen or
another establishment where 3 volunteers can devout some very important time to
others?
