[Fredslist] Office of Unclaimed Funds

Claiming funds is much easier when you're still alive. Aren't most things?
But seriously the first time I heard about it I found some funds in my
grandfather's name. He'd been dead almost 15 years. My father and I looked
into claiming them but needed to prove that he was next of kin etc and we
didn't have the paperwork to do all that since it had been so long. We
eventually we gave it up.

But thanks for the reminder. I haven't thought of this in years and just
found some for my mom. She's also deceased but I was the executor of the
estate and probably still have the paper works.

Regards,
John Seiffer

I once found 20,000 of my father's estate. I thought we had retrieved all
the funds but several years later we found an account we had missed.

Hi all -
Been stuck in the house all day with a sick kid so as I do from time to time
I visited the website for NYS Office of Unclaimed Funds. Didn't find any
unclaimed funds for me but did find for some friends!
Everyone should take a few minutes to check the site - you never know what
you may find!
