[Fredslist] Does anyone know about mold on kitchen walls?

My in-laws just got home from their winter in FL. to discover something
growing out of their kitchen wall, it is an outside wall.  Is there anyone
out there in Gotham that can help us find out what this could be.  It looks
like mushrooms coming from between the cracks in the wallpaper up high near
the ceiling.
