Dear Fellow Gothamites:

Words are wonderful. I don't say that just because I'm an editor who spends her life working with her own words and those of others — but because I just love how the same sentiment can be said in so many different ways.

I want to share the love with you. My gift to you is a phrase that we all all hold dear and hopefully live by. But the catch is, you have to figure out what it means. . . Once you learn the beauty of a word, you "own" it. When you own it and use it, its become a more effective tool for your business.(Editors are an essential part of that process, you know. . . .)

Let's see who the first Gothamite will be to translate this pearl of Latin wisdom into English:

Quod circumit, id circumvenit. (pronounced: kwawd KIHR-koom-eet ihd kirh-koom-WEH-niht).

Wishing you a good weekend, and hoping that what the above-cited phrase suggests does, in fact, happen to you.

With warm wishes,

Ellin Yassky
(your "go to" person for the words in your life)
