This week notice went out about a rash of telephone scams and social media
ID theft scams now occurring. As of yesterday

3 men where indicted for stealing 130 Million Credit Card numbers.

 

If you receive telephone calls asking to confirm any personal information
and Identity about you,

If you receive an email requesting to click on a link to confirm personal
information and identity about you,

If you receive text messages, calls, or requests on your cell phone and
smart phone requesting to confirm personal information and identity about
you,

If you see any activity on your facebook page, linked in page, and blog that
concerns you

 

Here's a rule of thumb: Mitigate and Eliminate if you didn't Initiate.

 

Anyone contacting you in any tele-media format, do not respond no matter how
official it looks or sounds. Instead take the initiative to contact the
party separately for follow up. Anyone insisting on the information simply
state that you don't know who they are and you will be happy to contact your
local customer service office immediate yourself. Thank them and hang up.

Please also notify parents over 65 years of age who are prime targets.

 

If you think you may have had your ID hijacked or compromised, contact me.
If you think your credit card may have been victimized as part of the 130
million who used credit/debit cards at 7-11 and other convenience stores
contact me.
