Led by 28 year-old Québécois-Canadian guest-conductor Jean-Philippe Tremblay, the POA takes you on a musical Journey to the North, from the Argentinean mountains, with Ginastera's virtuosic Variaciones Concertantes, to the Brazilian forests with Mignone's Concertino for Bassoon featuring POA's own bassoonist Edward Burns. The musical adventure continues through the American landscape with Richard Danielpour's First Light, ultimately arriving in the majestic trails of Québec with the U.S. premiere of Julien Bilodeau's Québec followed by Pierre Mercure's Kaléidoscope! Join us for Journey to the North, POA's 2008-09 season opener!
